“Music is something that obsessed me from very early on. There were always tunes running through my head! I remember asking my mum about song writing at the age of five, suggesting that songwriting must be easy! Little did I know. Over the years I have played in all sorts of band, mostly as a bass player, and have been involved in all aspects of music production in the studio (check out 2013 release Western Sun by the Grapes). I also enjoy getting behind the camera and have produced music video clips for Melbourne Indie legends Even. Back in 2006 I was a finalist in the SBS “Song for the Socceroo’s competition and got on the telly, which was pretty exciting (and nerve wracking!) In 2007 my project band Velvedene released the album “Carpet Bomb” and video clips for “Fear Your Gods” and “What I see” screened on ABC Rage. In 2013 things in my personal life took an unexpected turn when diagnosed out of the blue with NHL. This involved 12 months of pretty gruelling treatment, which kind of knocked the wind out of my sails. As those facing a similar situation will attest, its a life changing experience. I have decided that 2025 is the year to start releasing tracks that have been sitting on hard drives for the last ten years. “Better You Know” is the first single, and explores some of the anxiety involved waiting for medical results, in a hopefully whimsical way.
